My friend and co-author at We of Hue, and author of The Posh Blog asked her friends on Facebook to share their favorite iPad apps. I was planning on writing a post about this anyway, so her question just kicked me into action.
I am an iPad and app addict. My ipad keeps me connected without taking over my life. It is light, so I can carry it every where , and I use it to help facilitate my many jobs. There are so many apps for productivity and I am finally feeling like I can keep myself organized.
Truth be told, I love downloading and trying new apps. I tend to stick to the free apps as there is nothing worse than paying for an app only to find out it sucks!
Anyway, here are my favorites.
Business and Productivity
Cozi: a digital family organizer with calendar (multiple if you need to keep track of various people and tasks), to-do list, shopping list, and more. Sign up online and then download the iPad app. (Free)
MiniBooks: app that keeps you connected to our FreshBooks account so that you can send, view, and edit invoices on the go. ($14.99 but there is a Lite Version for free)
iMockups: for web designers who need to create wireframes for your own use or for clients. ($6.99)
Friendly for Facebook: with not official Facebook App for iPad, I attempted to use the Facebook app for iPhone, and it just sucked. Friendly is so much better. It supports up to 4 accounts too. ($.99)
Official Twitter App: Tweet from you ipad and even control multiple accounts. (Free)
Google Apps: Everything Google! (Free)
WordPress: blog right from your iPad. stay productive and create drafts whenever you need them. (Free)
Flipboard: turn your twitter stream into a magazine. Great way to follow specific Tweeters and cut out the noise. (Free)
Entertainment
Flight Control HD: land planes and helicopters. Pass the time while working out your reflexes. Young-child friendly! ($4.99)
Angry Birds (All of them): strategically fling birds at the evil pigs who have stolen all of their eggs! Kid friendly! ($.99)
Netflix: need to keep the little one occupied while you are in line, in the car, on a plane, or in a meeting? Turn on a movie from Netflix and relax. This has gotten us through meals at restaurants and wait times in the doctor’s office. (Free)
Mobile Rice (do search on iTunes): test your vocabulary and help feed the hungry. (Free)
Miss Spells Class: test how well you spell by selecting the word that is misspelled on the list. (Free)
AlphaWriter: Phonics game for children. My daughter (4) LOVES this and we use it to help teach her to spell words. ($4.99)
Health and Fitness
SparkPeople: track calories, activity, weight, and get tips on losing weight and keeping it off. (Free)
ElectricMiles: Synch the running/walking tracker Daily Mile to your iPad. (Free)
